I haven't blogged in a while, and for that - I apologize.
But today I was forced to get into a trending topic on Twitter called "#unfollowdiddy."
[Now, if you're not on Twitter, or don't know about it, then you might as well go and educate yourself here."]
For those of you familiar with Twitter, and the #unfollowdiddy craze, I'm sure you'll feel me on this:
It's . funny . as . hell.
Now I've never followed Diddy, nor do I really intend to, but the topic is crazy. Many people are asking why people want to #unfollowdiddy, and apparently the reason is because Diddy has over a million people following him on Twitter [There's only a few hundred thousand separating him from being more popular than the President]. Quite frankly, I'm not sure how. I couldn't find him easily by doing a search on Twitter for "Diddy." The real name on there is "Iamdiddy" [so extra] for those that are interested.
Getting back on track, there are some humorous posts when you follow the timeline of the #unfollowdiddy trend. My favorites thus far - that nearly made me cry [tears of joy] - are as follows:
"d1va_status: #unfollowdiddy because Kelly from B5 was bagging my groceries @ Safeway last week."
"WriteinBK: LMAO RT @Feminina #unfollowdiddy cuz all his Sean John clothes are made by Cassie's cousins in Vietnam, and he pays them in...Turtleshells!"
"motherwinslow: @MayTerrance #unfollowdiddy Because that's what Jesus would do."
"kickpush74: RT @Car_V #unfollowdiddy for having a dude running with his pee in a marathon (sorry Mr.Bentley)."
"Mr_Marx: #unfollowdiddy because Ciroc is really Thunderbird in a fancy bottle"
"hash_undiddy: #unfollowdiddy Cuz he hosts White Parties. My president is black. RT @certainslant"
"d1va_status: bwahaha RT @iLoveMyEgo : #unfollowdiddy cuz I seen dylan @ walmart as a cashier"
And my personal favorite...
"Mr_Marx: #unfollowdiddy because i seen total waiting tables at a truck stop"
Now, what I don't understand are the fools [yeah, I said it] who aren't for the #unfollowdiddy campaign who include #unfollowdiddy in their posts. Don't they understand it only adds to the popularity of the trending topic? Currently, its #4 on the trending topic list, proceeded by #jonaswebcast, #3wordsaftersex, and #3breakupwords.
Secretly, I'd like the #unfollowdiddy trend to make it to the top since I don't like him much after the epic fail of Danity Kane.
